All ancient cultures that lean on an esoteric basis that loses itself in the time have traditions that honour the woman’s power of initiation . Egypt, Greece, Arabia, India, Tibet and China all had this fundamental belief.

The woman was being considered the embodiment of beauty, sensuality and erotic vitality, as well as the guardian of the creative potential. Any human being was born through a woman’s YONI; any man wants to rejoin this land of thrilling femininity through an endless sexual intercourse (which is possible because of the PERFECTLY REALIZED CONTINENCE).

The wise Socrate asked to be initiated in the Art of Love by Diotima. By initiating him, she underlined the importance of seeing the beauty of the loved one, because in this way, you stimulate the other one, and secondly she taught him the secret science to elevate the passion and turn it from sensual level to spiritual level.

Tantric secret learning underlines the same aspect. Though physical beauty is highly appreciated, without being conscious of it, this is not enough for a woman. The power and significance of soul beauty go far past the physical one.

Beauty ideals are being described in Indian texts like Kama Sutra and Ananga Ranga. Different types of men and women are being divided into all kinds of categories, due to their physical, emotional and mental characteristics.

According to an ancient sexual writings, the woman that someone wants to practice the Art of Love with should be “extremely beautiful and sensual, and to have both the body and the mind equally developed. Her sudden appearance will open up the mysterious door to spontaneous feelings and will elevate and capture the mind.”

Another text declares poetically that “the chosen one should be in her early life, with charming eyes, which throw arrows filled with love; her features should express positive traits of character; her lips filled with nectar; with big breasts, beautiful thighs and legs, a full and harmonious body. When the lover comes to her she should be dressed in lively coloured silks.”

In the Chinese tradition the women were the ones who guarded and transmitted the sexual secrets. Taoism talks about the three different archetypes: The Sincere Girl, The Black Girl and The Chosen Girl. The clearest erotic Chinese manuals, like The Learnings of the Secret Methods of The Sincere Girl, The Sexual Learnings of The Black Girl and The Sexual Advice of The Chosen Girl are presented as an intimate dialogue in which the beautiful, intelligent and sensuous woman initiates the man into sexual secrets.

As for the choosing of the right woman as lover in the erotic game, The Sincere Girl says that, “Such women are generally very beautiful, refined, sensual, intelligent, tender and good. Their hair is silky, their skin is velvety and her bones are fragile. Not being too small, nor too big, not too thin, but also not too thick, the lips of their genitals should be prominent and full, as the Pleasure Cave should be wet and excitingly smelling. During the erotic act they eliminate abundantly a fluid and they move their bodies artfully so, as the man is excited permanently without being tempted to ejaculate. Their ideal age is between 16 and 30.”

HEVAJRA TANTRA, an important Indian text, says: “The one that is really evolved in Yoga has to honour his mother and sister, as well as his dancer, his cleaning lady, the woman outside his caste as well as the noble one, the same way. He has to reunite his Sceptre with her Wisdom Lotus without any seed discharge. As a result of this ritual there is the freedom, if the mysterious fluids are being harmoniously focused into SAHASRARA.”

This apparently enigmatic affirmation underlines the huge power of initiation of women. Then there it comes the following clarification: “Gnosis (the secret fundamental knowledge) is called ‘the mother’ because it gives birth to the world. It is also called ‘the sister’, because its affection is constant. It is called ‘the dancer’, because of its intense thrilling, passionate nature. It is called ‘the cleaning lady’ because it makes all the beings seem full of life and colour. It is called ‘the one outside the caste’ because its supreme interior essence ( ATMAN ) cannot be reached.”

Even in Christianity, the religion that is often hostile to sexuality and voluptuous pleasures, there is a mysterious tradition of courtesan love where the ideal love of a lover converges strongly and finally leads to the blissfully love of God.

In order to be more exact, this tradition leans on the repressing (that in fact led to the TRANSMUTATION of the sexual potential) and on the sublimation the sexual energy that is used integrally for a transcendent aim.

It is a curious fact that Mohamed, the Prophet of Islam, who had nine wives (his special privilege), never, referred to the power of initiation of women. The tradition says that he once declared that, “I was offered by God Almighty four qualities that others do not have. These are generosity and courage, the capacity of having frequent sexual unions without any seed discharge and the capacity of regaining my strength very quickly.”

There is also in the book a moment when he made love to each of his nine wives, separately, in one night, without ejaculating all this time. Then he went ahead to another erotic ritual, right after the nine successive sexual intercourses.

Unfortunately he did not assign his extraordinary recovering capacity to his perfect sexual continence and to the power of initiation that his wives had. This mysterious feminine force is confirmed in many ancient spiritual traditions.

For example, almost all Chinese emperors had to make love without ejaculating every night, with nine beautiful and sensual consorts, and with the empress two nights before a full moon.

The extraordinary power of a woman to initiate is consisting first of all in her mental attitude towards the sensuality which is approached only in a spiritual sense. Becoming active and exploring courageously the whole series of sexual secrets during the intercourse, a beautiful, sensual and intelligent woman can give a great subtle spiritual power to her lover.

This mysterious power, the highest form of SHAKTI (the feminine principle), is a direct expression of spiritual intuition. It is also an “energy of wisdom”, spontaneous and gay, that can quickly make all the obstacles go away.

Such a woman should initiate her lover with boldness into her spiritual experience regarding sexuality. The success lays in pure spontaneity, in her capacity of trusting herself and of focusing on the high ideals that she has, in her desire to give her lover “something special and unforgettable”. Her huge self-confidence is an essential condition in all initiation rituals and even the goddess in all women is the one who initiates.

“The Mysterious Queen Dakini has absorbed all the peaceful and the angry goddesses into her divine body. She transformed Yogi Padma into a sound – seed that was lying on her lips and she said the secret Blessing of Long Life. Then she swallowed this seed and inside her stomach Padma received the secret initiation of Endless Compassion. In the KUNDALINI region, in the center of sexuality, she gave the initiation of the body, word and mind.”

We recognize the religious rediscovery of Woman’s mystery in Tantra . As we’ll see later on each beautiful woman who is full of vital energy is the embodiment of SHAKTI – the feminine principle.

The spiritual emotion profoundly transfiguring towards the fascinating mystery of birth and fecundity and also the recognition of everything that is far, enigmatic, transcendent, invulnerable in Woman, all these come to symbolize the sacred and the divine, the ineffable essence of the ultimate reality.

The woman who is fascinating in her beauty and is full of vital energy embodies the mystery of Creation and the mystery of the Being at the same time, of everything that IS and that becomes death and birth in an incomprehensible manner.

Thus it is prolonged, metaphysically and even mythically, the basis of the SAMKHYA philosophy:
The Spirit, “The Supreme Male”, Purusha , is “the great impotent”, immobile and contemplative, as the absolute witness. He acts through PRAKRITI , “The Eternal Feminine”, that is the dynamic principle, the one who creates and feeds. When a great danger threatens the Cosmos, Gods appeal to the power of SHAKTI to make it go away.

A famous myth tells us the story of how the Great Goddess was born at the beginning of times. An evil demon, MAHISHA, was threatening the Universe and even the existence of the Gods. BRAHMA and the entire Pantheon of gods asked for VISHNU and SHIVA ‘s help.

Full of anger, all gods focused their energies in a fire that came out of their mouths. These fires mixed together and made a gigantic brilliant, white, burning cloud that finally took the shape of a fascinating GODDESS with 18 arms.

This Goddess was SHAKTI, who managed to destroy MAHISHA the monster and thus saved the world. Thus the Gods endowed SHAKTI with their powers. She was the Unique Feminine Force, the spring that everything came from at the beginning. The result was a renewing of a primordial state of the universal power.

In Tantra the woman is sacred.

In Tantra SHAKTI, “the cosmic feminine force”, is raised to the position of Divine Mother who sustains the Universe and all the beings, the multiple manifestation of gods (the angelic entities).

It is called UMA , The Virgin, in its primordial hypostasis that precedes the Universal creation. In this case SHAKTI is the highest peak of all worlds, pure and untouchable. Once it manifests the universe, SHAKTI becomes the maintainer of space and time and all subtle and physical worlds.

In its final hypostasis she is the destroyer, KALI , the one who absorbs into the divine everything that is incomplete and limited in order to prepare a new Creation. KALI wants to make the entire manifestation to have an evolutionary sense.

Women can be happy that they got an essential role in religion and spiritual philosophy for the first time. Only in Tantra the female principle has got a real role, just as important as the male one.

It is not about the common, false feminist slogans for equality; it is a way to raise the Eternal Feminine through her own mysterious qualities without an artificial equality with the male principle.

Tantra goes further and presents the Divine Being as a glorious ANDROGEN – the perfect and harmonious combination of feminine and masculine. In other works the Divine is presented as the SHIVA – SHAKTI couple in ecstatic sexual union with continence .

In Tantra the woman and the man are complementary and equal in chances of discovering the ultimate reality.

Of all spiritual ways Tantra is the first who brings the woman and the Eternal Feminine out in the open and enhances their value, to the highest levels. Thus the woman is considered to be solar on sexual, affective and mental levels while the man dominates the vital, will, purity and spiritual levels.

By unifying the man and the woman, by love and transfiguration, they become the divine couple SHIVA – SHAKTI. Thus they can complete one another at all levels of being, creating a Glorious Androgen.

There is a certain way of looking at the world, accepted by both men and women. There are women who want to be independent, but they are so scared of not belonging to anyone. An unmarried woman feels like she is to be felt sorry for, but an unmarried man is to be envied.

The woman wants to build her fate with her own hands, but there are lots of women who say, if they fail, “I’m only a woman”. Generally there aren’t many young men who make an ideal out of the “I’m getting married” idea, but there are still so many women who do, turning their marriage into a career.

The woman who has to stay home with her children is often identified with the idea of weakness and she is considered a passive human being that needs protection, physical, but also moral, social and legal.

Many people still have the tendency of despising an intelligent, cultivated, active woman because she doesn’t fit the feminine stereotype they know. Just like they tend to despise a sensitive and gentle man because he doesn’t fit their own idea of virility.

In the contemporary society men who succeed are “virile”, which means ambitious, aggressive, without scruples, money chasing and glory chasing. At the same time modest, generous and sensitive men are considered effeminate.

For many men, still, the woman who flatters his ego should be very beautiful, elegant, a good mother, a faithful wife, and also a passive, ignorant and capricious woman. You will hear very often the idea that femininity is the same with passivity, weakness, stupidity and immorality.

Women got to accept their depreciation completely because of their education and of the society. The scorn towards women is still alive at both sexes. There are many women who do not accept them as women being convinced that being a man is the real gift of God.

Menstruation, birth, menopause, they all have created the prejudice that a woman is someone who depends on nature and on her own body and that’s why she cannot reach the levels of intelligence, creativity and spirituality that a man can.

In order to fit the “new image” of femininity, a lot of women waste their few spare time reading stupid magazines, chasing for the dress that will get out of fashion only a few months later, concerning too much about their hair and creating an existence filled with frivolous patterns.

Thus they waste the time they could have used in knowing themselves and this stops them from thinking of the purpose of their lives.

Nowadays, the women, who were underestimated century by century, make the big mistake of wishing to have man’s “superiority”, considering it as true freedom and personal achievement. The woman dreams to replace the man, to become an Amazon.

But it is not solving the problem, but only reversing the roles. Though there are biological differences between men and women that make them behave differently in certain conditions, these differences are too small in comparison to what men and women have in common as humans.

Setting the woman free of all prejudices is not an act that depends only on women. It depends on the entire world. The humanity’s outlook about woman is an expression of its conscience level.

Most women do not know their possibilities, many have been left out in ignorance, and others have given up their studies because they had a baby and many others don’t even have a professional background.

How is it possible for a woman to become independent and to have a creative activity when her soul and mind are not treated the right way, are not cultivated? The problem for a woman is to know how to resist the society’s conceptions about women and how to open up to her real mission, which is a spiritual one.

There were times when the woman was more than a simple human being. She was the embodiment of Fecundity, Earth, Nature and Life. She was identified with the goddesses that governed the different aspects of life and thus she was considered sacred.

The woman was worshiped in certain periods of time. She was a goddess or a priestess (the vestals, the hetaerae ) or she was a muse. She was the embodiment of Beauty, Grace, Gentility and Kindness. She was the Mother, the Wife, the Lover, and the one who lead the man to God.

She embodied the Absolute and has got the mission of orienting the world to the Ultimate Supreme Reality. The spirit of the Universe comes to meet the man because of the Woman. The Woman’s Greatness is that of leading the world to God.

She holds the world’s possibility to reach the Divine Light through life’s profound spiritualization and also to destroy it by amplifying its inferior tendencies. The Woman always comes up or falls because there is no other option for her.

Waking up the feminine qualities is the way she gives herself to life. She cannot find fulfilment outside her being, except by accepting herself completely and consciously. And acceptance means not only becoming aware of her being a woman physiologically speaking, but also becoming conscious of her feminine qualities and of her role in this world.

Her spiritual sense of life is that of turning people’s limited vision to the essence of the world through the wonderful manifestation of her Femininity. The woman has got the Principle of Creating the Universe in her. This principle makes everything move.

Nowadays women are a lot more open to spirituality than men are, but they are not aware of their power and force that can change and wake up the entire world. They remain weak and passive, lost in small, unimportant things, accepting everything without even thinking of making a difference. And that’s because they do not know that they can do it some other way!

It is time for the woman to learn to know herself better, to remind her of the light in her soul, to admit it and to see it in others, too. It is time for her to show the man the path to the light through her shining way of being. Both of them, together, enriched through love and union, can get higher to Immortality Land.
